Meet Me at the Well!!!
John 4:4-7
(4) But He needed to go through Samaria. (5) So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. (6) Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from [His] journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. (7) A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."
In today’s text, the Apostle John, the one whom Jesus loved; the one who stuck with my Saviour to the end; records a conversation or a conversion with a particular Samaritan woman. Her name is not important; neither is the number of times that she was married. But what is important is her life changing experience. If you don’t mind, I like to share a few highlights with you:
-
Don’t get caught up in hearsays. [You got to know Him for yourself!]
-
He made a pit stop! [Maybe you ought to let Him in…]
-
Excuses just won’t do! [Stop telling the Lord what He can’t do.]
-
God wants to bless more than just you. [It’s not about you!]
-
He knows… [Therefore I confess boldly!]
-
Run and tell that! [That’s if He’s done anything for you…]
So maybe you find yourself at a time of need; maybe you are dealing with the lost of a love one; maybe things seem that they will never get better; or you feel like giving up. Well, I invite you to meet me at the well! And I know if He did it for me, He can and He will do it for you! Jesus wants to meet you at the well!!!
